This release provides “Real-Time” support for all supported HD codecs, including MPEG2 and XDCAM with varying bit rates and video format. Container support is unchanged from previous release, users can output to MOV or MXF with full support for embedding captions using both MCC and SCC caption containers.

This release captures 18-months of engineering to develop a complete software transcode solution that supports the native data rates of the Time Tailor. The DMC Real-time process does not require any external hardware or transcode systems or GPUs, which adds significant procurement and operating costs to the time management workflow. The Player Application manages a complex set of queues to ensure all video and audio packets align frame accurately through the entire process - play out and capture. The Player supports full segmentation of the source media, plus allows the user to insert black slugs between segments or at the start and end points of the output file. This also includes support for caption re-alignment based on segment in/out points.

The DMC continues to run on a standard Dell PowerEdge r730 server, which come equipped with a SDI card and RS422 control interface.
