Matrox ConvertIP SDM is an Intel® smart display module that supports ST 2110 and IPMX inputs. Featuring two RJ45 and two SFP28 ports on a single device, ConvertIP SDM is designed for compressed or uncompressed workflows up to 25G and is optimal for zero latency applications. The device’s all-in-one design fits into displays and projectors, making it ideal for users that require the convenience and reliability of an integrated display solution.

IP to SDM

ConvertIP SDM is a receiver that slots directly into SDM-compatible displays and projectors eliminating the need for external receivers and extra cabling. Its integrated form factor simplifies installation, reduces clutter, and delivers an all-in-one IP display solution, making it ideal for control rooms, corporate environments, live events, and any space where convenience, reliability, and performance are essential. The on-board scaler allows for conversion of any IP signal to the native resolution of the display device regardless of content source. Finally, control interfaces include webpage UI, dedicated ConvertIP Manager software, private REST API along with NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 APIs.

Compressed and Uncompressed IP Transport

Designed to adapt to various workflows, ConvertIP SDM supports multiple transport options for maximum flexibility:

• Supports uncompressed HD and UHD streams over IP using SMPTE ST 2110-20

• Includes the Pro AV codec for visually lossless compression up to 6Gbps

• Optional JPEG-XS license for SMPTE ST 2110-22 support

• Transmit and receive audio using SMPTE ST 2110-30 and AES67

• Achieves glass-to-glass latencies as low as 1 millisecond in both compressed and uncompressed workflows

• Offers full IP transport redundancy using ST 2022-7 protocol

I/O Capabilities

IPMX or ST 2110 signals can be received over one or both of the 10/25G SFP media ports or 1 / 2.5G RJ45 media ports.

A dedicated 1GbE control port can optionally be used to send/receive control data.

Additional I/O modes of operation include:

• HDCP Support

• Quad Split multi channel display output

• Bridge mode, allowing third party control signals to be passed from media network port to dedicated control port connected to downstream IP devices.

• Daisy Chain mode, allowing a single network switch port to deliver content to multiple DSH devices.
