EVOLVE 30M satisfies at Melbourne Street Eatz Festival
Melbourne Street Eatz Festival 2021 was one of the first events that brought everyone together after the pandemic lockdowns and social distancing measures of 2020-1.
Held on the banks of the Yarra River in front of Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the open-air festival runs from February to April each year and is known for its rotating calendar of gourmet food trucks – along with a wide range of live music and entertainment.
This year over 54,000 attended the festival, which was aimed towards reconnecting local musicians, businesses and communities that have been struggling during the pandemic.
The EVOLVE 30M column loudspeaker system from Electro-Voice was the sound system selected for the event, and EV distributors Jands saw a perfect opportunity to put the portable column loudspeaker system through its paces.
Jands sourced local musicians Gabriel Vargas and Acoustic Mojo Music as the two main acts on the Electro-Voice stage. After performing, Peter from Acoustic Mojo Music remarked that the EVOLVE 30M was “...the punchiest speaker for its size that I’ve ever played with…” Gabriel Vargas added “...the EVOLVE 30M is everything I need for my style, in terms of sound clarity and ease of application.”
The EVOLVE 30M is equipped with an eight-channel digital mixer, studio-quality onboard effects, hi-res streaming, and remote control of all audio, effects and mix functions via the next-generation Electro-Voice QuickSmart Mobile application. The 30M was the ideal choice to support the various inputs and sonic finessing required for the different types of performers, including bands, DJs and acoustic sets. The Director of Street Eatz, Gaz Kempster, noted “The power of the EVOLVE 30M really impressed me, we were easily able to configure stages for each performing arrangement”.
The take away? The EVOLVE 30M is a user-friendly, highly portable and lightweight system with extraordinary connectivity, control, coverage and output relative to its footprint – perfect for achieving big sound on smaller stages.
